NYS Summer Reading Program

The NYS Summer Reading program “One World, Many Stories” concluded Wednesday August 24th with grand prizes going to Joelee and Lily Neupert, who both read 30 books each, and Thomas Stevener, who read 13. All participants received prizes for their wonderful efforts to keep reading during the summer. They included Renee Aiken, John David Bean, Sydney and William Burnell, Hannah and Kaitlyn Burnett, Spencer Capone, Grace and Joy Dean, Brontë, Jonah and Olivia Micek, and Jadalyn Vile. The display case in the library shows the countries the children visited and the crafts they made, as well as many of the stories they read. Thanks again to Irish Entertainer Deirdre McCarthy for performing on August 3rd. Sponsors for the program included North Country Library System, Burdick Ford, Village Pharmacy and Walmart. McDonald’s of Central Square donated hot apple pies and lemonade for the children’s return to the USA on the last night of the program. Thank you to volunteers Becky Aiken, Rachel Borasky, Hannah Jones, Kelsey Thibault, Victoria Traub, Haley Winks and Taylor Zacharewski for such a successful program!
