September 2011 Calendar of Events

Mondays          Chicks With Sticks Knit & Crochet Club          6:00 p.m.

The group is making lap robes for the Veteran’s Hospital- any contributions are greatly appreciated! The lap robes should measure approximately 36” x 45”. Stop in for some yarn if you’d like to work from home and/or can’t make the meetings. Everyone welcome- lessons available from members- lots of patterns and books available.

 

Tuesday 9/20          Library Board of Trustees Meeting          4:30 p.m.

 The Library Board of Trustees meets on the 2nd Tuesday of every month- however, this month they will meet on the 3rd Tuesday of the month. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.

 

Wednesdays          PJ Storytime          6:00 p.m.

Come join us for great stories, a bedtime snack and a craft. Wear your pj’s if you’d like and bring along your favorite stuffed animal, doll or toy to enjoy the fun!

 

Wednesday 9/14 & 9/21          United Healthcare          1:00 p.m.

Paul Clark, Independent Career Agent, will be available to assist people with enrollment in United Healthcare (Medicare Solutions). Appointments can be made by calling (315) 877-2044.

 

Wednesday 9/21          Parent Support Group          12:00 p.m.

The mission of Elmcrest Autism Behavioral Resource is to enhance the family’s ability to parent a child with autism and/or challenging behaviors. All Autism Behavioral Resource services are free- more information can be obtained through their website at www.elmcrest.org or by calling 315-391-9979.

 

Friday 9/30          Book Club          6:00 p.m.

 

The club is reading Bridget Jones’ Diary by Helen Fielding. The library’s copy of the book is reserved for members of the club so everyone has a chance to read it- extra copies of the book can be ordered through interlibrary loan- just ask at the desk. Join in for discussion and snacks!

 

Saturday 9/24          Literacy Volunteers of Oswego             11:00 a.m.                                 “One World, Many Stories” Event


Literacy Volunteers of Oswego County are sponsoring an event in conjunction with the NYS Summer Reading Program “One World, Many Stories” at the Armory in Oswego.

 

All events are free!

There is parking in the back of the building and the library is handicapped accessible.

We have 4 public access computers, free Wi-Fi, and a printer/copier/fax available.

Donations are welcome. The library is a 501c3 tax exempt organization and all donations are tax deductible.
