FEBRUARY 14 EVENTS

     Valentine's Day will be busy at the library. Book Club will meet at 6:00 as they discuss the chosen book, The New Year's Quilt: An Elm Creek Quilts novel by Jennifer Chiaverini. Also, if you stop in on February 14 you will be able to take a chance on winning a special valentine treat.

DEATH BY CHOCOLATE FEBRUARY 9

     One of our more popular events, Death By Chocolate, will soon be here. This is your chance to indulge by sampling dozens of delectable chocolate treats. For $5 you will be able to choose 10 of the various cookies and candies that our Board members and Friends of the Library have created. Enjoy them here or take them home. Live music will get you in the mood to choose some sweets for your sweetheart or for yourself. Stop in on Sunday, February 9, between 2 and 4. Your sweet tooth will thank you!

CLOSED FEBRUARY 17

     The library will be closed on Monday, February 17, for Presidents' Day.

SENIORS - GOT QUESTIONS???

     A representative from the Office for the Aging will be available to help area seniors on Wednesday, February 19, from 1-3.

FEBRUARY TRIVIA CHALLENGE

     Our next Trivia Challenge will be on Thursday, February 27, at 6:30. Bring a partner and come enjoy an evening of free entertainment. See how many questions you can answer. You might surprise yourself! Great prizes are awarded for first and second place winners. Refreshments are served.

TWO FASCINATING EVENTS COMING DEC. 13 AND 14

     Michael Czarnecki will be performing a reading of his work on Friday, December 13, at 6 pm. It is entitled, "Stories and Readings from the Poetic Road". At 2 pm on Saturday, December 14, he will present a Photo Exhibit from his travels along US Route 11 from Rouses Point, NY to New Orleans, Louisiana. Both should prove to be very interesting and an hour or two well spent at this hectic time.

HOLIDAY HAPPENINGS AT THE LIBRARY

     The holiday season is upon us and your local library is excited to offer some festive activities to help you get in the holiday spirit.

                   DECEMBER 8 - THE MCCARTHY FAMILY

                   We are pleased to sponsor a fun holiday concert that the whole family will enjoy. It will be held at the Caughdenoy Methodist Church from 2-4. This is a free concert. Donations will be accepted but not expected.

                  DECEMBER 15 - CHRISTMAS COOKIE SALE

BOOK SALE CLEARANCE

     Stop in and take advantage of the final days of our book sale. Bad weather prevented a lot of folks from coming in so we are extending the sale to Friday and Saturday, November 15 and 16. The best news is that it is now "a buck a bag".  Come in and stock up for those snowy winter days ahead.

     The library will hold a huge book sale on Friday, November 8 and Saturday, November 9 during business hours. Lots to choose from.

TODD HOBIN TO PLAY AT OCTOBER 25 FUNDRAISER

     Our annual Fall Fundraiser will be held on Friday, October 25, 2019 from 7-10 at Glennwood Golf Course in West Monroe. This is sure to be a fun evening with live music, theme basket raffles, a 50/50 drawing, food and drink for purchase and the company of some awesome people! We are so excited to welcome Todd Hobin who will be sharing his music and stories that evening. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased at the library or at the door. You won't want to miss this opportunity to hear one of the area's musical legends.
