Anyone interested in what it was like to travel on the ill-fated ocean liner, Titanic, will not want to miss this program presented by D. Herbert Sipp. What did passengers in first, second and third class dine on? What stories have been told about the ship's last minutes? Was the Carpathia really the nearest ship to the foundering vessel? Dr. Sipp will be able to give insights into many aspects of this piece of history. You will be able to view many different pieces from his research on the topic and ask questions about the ship, passengers and crew.

DISASTER PREPAREDNESS PROGRAM AUGUST 11

No one likes to think that they may have to make serious decisions in the face of an emergency, but it is better to have important information prior to that happening. Ellen Earley will be at the library on Thursday, August 11, at 6:30, to give participants a thorough plan for facing possible natural and man-made disasters. This would be a very beneficial program for family members to attend to give loved ones a feeling of security should disaster strike.

SUMMER READING PROGRAM

Attention parents of K-12 students! On Monday, June 27, there will be an informational meeting regarding the Summer Reading Program the library will be sponsoring this summer. The session will begin at 6:30 and this is an opportunity to sign children up for participation. The program will run during July and August. If your child does not have a library card, you are encouraged to stop in the library to get one prior to the beginning of the program. This is an excellent way to keep your child reading over the summer so their skills will not be lost.
