     We are holding a voter registration drive during the month of August. We have the forms and will deliver them for you. If you are not registered and want to vote in November, the time is now to come in and pick up your form!

AUTHOR VISIT SCHEDULED FOR AUGUST 9

Gary VanRiper, author of The Adirondack Kids book series, will be visiting the library on Thursday, August 9, at 6:30. This will be a great family program to gain background into the writing process as well as become more familiar with the popular series which now numbers 18 titles. The library has all 18 books available for checkout and youngsters are encouraged to come in and choose one so they will know a bit about the characters and themes. If you have visited the Old Forge area and enjoy mysteries these books will really interest you.

2 PROGRAMS SCHEDULED FOR TUESDAY, JULY 31

The library is fortunate to have Mr. Ron Cain coming to present two unique programs on Tuesday, July 31. At 4:30, youngsters will be fascinated with Ron's "Enchanted Creatures" program. Here you will be introduced to the world of fairies, unicorns, leprechauns,dragons and other magical beings. At 7:00, Ron will be presenting an adult program entitled "The Magic of Chocolate" which looks at chocolate's role in history, culture and science. Come play games and make a chocolate treat!

REMINDER

     Story Hour is held each Wednesday morning from 10-11 during the summer.

FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY MEETING

     The next meeting of the Friends of the Library Group will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 6:30. New members are always welcome.

LIBRARY CLOSED

     The library will be closed on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 in celebration of Independence Day.

STORY HOUR TIME CHANGE

    The time for our Story Hour will be changing during the summer months. Beginning June 27 story hour will be held from 10-11 each Wednesday morning. This time change will continue until September 5 when it will return to Wednesdays from 1-2.
